East Haven Academy Reviews

I agree it is a great school but feel the fact that so many siblings are taken in over other students who seem more qualified discredits the students as gifted, it is a great school but all the students are not gifted.

E.H.A. is incredible, though this is only my sons first year (3rd grader) I am beyond impressed. We just had his first play,If You Believe. It was phenomenal, everything was perfect you could see and feel all the love and confidence in all of the children. I firmly believe this school is the best in East Haven and I'm proud my son made it in . I do and always will support such a wonderful school. Good Luck and Goodbye to Dr. Speck. Of course I believe the next principal will be a good fit for E.H.A

I'm proud to have 2 children at EHA.

This school is so incredible for my daughter. The teachers and staff are wonderful. P.T.O is another thing. Overall this is the best school ever attended.

I sincerely think that all schools should teach this way. What a remarkable job they do here! Not only do they inspire children to do their best, but the children are in an environment that fosters the importance and value of liking/loving academics. This is a school where being smart is Cool! Also, no one has mentioned this yet, but this school has won 'The Blue Ribbon Award',(1 of only 2 schools in the state),from the President for academic achievements. Only a select few schools from around the country got this award! Also, I think Dr. Speck is just as good as Mrs. Butcher. She has a great background with gifted children and should be a great addition to this school.

The school offered many things for all students, but I am afraid to say that the principal that has taken Mrs. Butcher's place this year, Dr. Speck, is not of the sam e quality. My children have come how telling me how they preferred Mrs. Butcher and how this principal treats them as if they are immature. I think that the chool still offers the same activities that teach the children the right view on learning. Also, the teachers provide a learning environment benificial to all, but i am worried how Dr. Speck will keep this school the success it has been in past years.

It is a fun and interesting school enviornment and fun for children while teaching them the lessons they need to continue in life. Probably the best school in east haven. They act out partsof history together and encourage their students to try their very best. Although this school is public you need to test to get in. A simple test and they will determine who will be most succesful in that enviornment. Some of the teachers are really inspiring. If you spent a day in that school you would see how interacive and fun the school really is. You can't say that East Haven Academy is a bad school or a snotty school, it's just a better enviornment for your children to grow up in. The teachers at The East Haven Academy really do care about their students and the school couldn't be run by a better principal, ms. butcher.

My son started at the East Haven Academy in Grade 5. He has become a more conscientious student since he has been there. I knew he would do well and I did not want him to struggle. He has done exceptionally well and I am so happy he is there. The teachers and the Principal expect the students to do their very best and are constantly encouraging the students to bring themselves to the next level. The teachers and Principal instill a feeling of confidence in all the students and we see at home how our child relates to this. He never complains about his homework and is very excited when he does well. The music program is also wonderful. The music program prepares the students for high school and college. The plays give the students a chance to see what they can do and build their selft esteem.

Finally - a school that reflects current research based teaching strategies and focuses on the whole child's development!! I am so grateful my daughter has the opportunity to be a part of such a special place. She learnes through hands-on, project based activities using authentic assessment and curriculum themes that truly have meaning to her. The teachers and support staff show a genuine respect for the children and each other, and are an outstanding example of charatcer building in all content areas. I cannot say enough! Our principal, Mrs. Butcher, leads the children, staff, and parents (who run an active and engaged PTO)with enthusiasm, consistency, and a passion for what is best for children. My husband and I hope to have our son join the ranks of EHA students in the near future. Thanks to everone at EHA - and keep up the wonderful work!

I'm proud to say I have two boys that attend EHA and both are doing very well. The teachers go above and beyond to get the kids excited about learning. As a parent, I like the open lines of communication between parents, teachers and administration. The overall learning environment is superb!

I have two children that attend the Academy. They both love it and so do I. The communication is great. This school teaches them to enjoy learning.
